SANZAF’s Back-to-School campaign is facilitates the supply of essential school supplies, uniforms, and resources, such initiatives remove barriers to learning, fostering long-term positive impacts on the lives of children, their families, and the community at large. At the beginning of every year, SANZAF Pietermaritzburg distributes school uniform and stationery vouchers to children form impoverished areas.
Providing shelter is crucial for addressing the fundamental human need for a safe and secure living environment, offering protection from the elements and promoting physical well-being. Beyond the immediate impact on individual lives, stable housing contributes to cleaner spaces, community development and employment opportunities. SANZAF in collaboration with other organizations form part of the support network for this trail blazing initiative aimed at creating real solutions to homelessness in the city.
SANZAF has consistently dedicated itself to combating food insecurity through a variety of interconnected programs designed to improve and empower communities across South Africa. Among these endeavours is the commitment to addressing the essential requirement for nutrition and alleviating hunger among the most disadvantaged.
SANZAF Pietermaritzburg coordinates monthly activities such as :
On-site Feeding Scheme – Monthly feeding scheme done at the end of every month at the office premises and has been active for over 5 years with 30 degs cooked & distributed.
School Feeding Schemes– Every Thursday 4 degs of food are cooked & distributed to students in disadvantaged areas.
Homeless in-town Distribution– Every Thursday the SANZAF PMB team cooks and distributes food to the homeless through the CBD
