It's all about compassion...

SANZAF's signature seasonal project, Operation Winter Warmth will be launched nationally at all its offices in South Africa.

A large majority of children and the aged live in abject poverty in South Africa. Hence, SANZAF's Operation Winter Warmth Campaign is targeted at underprivileged children, the aged and the homeless in need across the country.
In the Western Cape the focus is specifically on deserving school children in the various communities. Our objective is to provide these deserving school children with a woolly beanie, scarf and gloves to protect them from the cold. The aged in our community are also particularly vulnerable to the cold weather. Chances are we all know an aged person who fits the above description. Thousands of our aged in countless informal settlements and in old age institutions will be afflicted by the severe cold winter weather. They have little or nothing to keep them warm.

SANZAF is authorized by SARS to issue its contributors or donors with a Section 18A Tax certificate upon request. The reason:
SANZAF is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO)
SANZAF's signature seasonal project, Operation Winter Warmth will be launched nationally at all its offices in South Africa. The reason for this is that changing weather patterns across the country renders many of the most disadvantaged communities vulnerable to the cold.

Are there any of us who can enjoy the warmth within our own homes in the cold of winter without a care for those who have no protection from the cold? A sharp decline in temperature previously resulted in ice formation on the ocean waters at Sea Point.

Somehow, directly or indirectly, we all know someone who is afflicted by the terrible cold and stormy weather this winter. The rights of the destitute include the right to be sheltered from the harsh elements of nature.
